Virology Group

3rd Congress of the Polish Society of Virology

Members of Laboratory of Virus Molecular Biology and Laboratory of Recombinant Vaccines participated in the 3rd Congress of the Polish Society of Virology, which took place in Lublin on September 17-18, 2025.

Two sessions were led by members of the Laboratory of Virus Molecular Biology: Prof. Krystyna Bieńkowska-Szewczyk, who presented „Cell-to-cell transmission – virus strategy to spread quickly in the infected host,” and Dr. Magdalena Weidner-Glunde, who presented a „Herpesviral genome persistence.”

In addition, the following posters by members of our laboratory were presented in the poster session:

  • Natalia Paluch, Bogusław Szewczyk „Nucleic acid-binding protein complexes as potential antiviral vaccines”
  • Aleksandra Sławińska, Katarzyna Grzyb „Assessment of the immunogenicity of virus-like particles displaying the conserved region of the SARS-CoV-2 „spike” protein”
  • Mikołaj Piotrkowski, Michał Rychłowski, Mirosława Panasiuk, Natalia Derewońko, Krystyna Bieńkowska-Szewczyk, „Replication of bovine herpesvirus (BHV-1) in human glioma cells”
  • Magdalena Weidner-Glunde, Tejasv Gupta, and Mamata Savanagouder ,,Factors determining the localization patterns of the HCMV IE1 protein in glioma cells.”

Anyone whose work is connected with virology is welcome to join Polish Society of Virology. For more information visit: http://www.wirusologia.com.pl/cz%C5%82onkostwo-w-ptw
