FarU Immunology Meeting
The Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology of the University of Gdańsk and the Medical University of Gdańsk hosted a remarkable scientific conference – the ‘FarU Immunology Meeting’. It was the first event of its kind in Poland, bringing together academic communities from all three institutions forming The Fahrenheit Union of Universities in Gdańsk (FarU). The conference took place on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
The Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology, renowned for its interdisciplinary approach, served as an ideal venue for the event. As a unique unit jointly operated by two major Gdańsk universities, IFB embodies the collaborative spirit at the heart of the FarU initiative.
The conference program featured four thematic scientific sessions focusing on clinical, experimental, and translational immunology, as well as joint ventures session. The event served as a platform for integrating the scientific community, exchanging ideas, and strengthening ties while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration among FarU research units.
The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Daniel Fahrenheit Association of Gdańsk Universities, the University of Gdańsk, and the Medical University of Gdańsk. It was also supported by the Polish Society for Experimental and Clinical Immunology. The conference, which attracted nearly 100 registered participants, was free of charge thanks to the support of sponsors: BD (Gold Sponsor), BioLike, Merck, and Promega.
During the conference, dr hab. Andrea Lipińska presented her work entitled: „A small viral thief and a cellular VIP protein – how viruses hijack cellular pathways for immunosubversion”.
