Dr Łukasz Rąbalski received an individual award from Minister of Education and Science. Congratulations!
We are happy to announce that our collegue, Dr Łukasz Rąbalski, assistant professor at the Department of Recombinant Vaccines, received an individual prestigious award from the Minister of Education and Science for a significant achievement in the field of scientific activity entitled: „Determining the genetic variability of the SARS-CoV-2 virus within the human population and during transmission interspecies.” In the course of his work, he showed how the virus that causes COVID-19 disease has changed genetically. What we observe as emerging variants of the virus can be characterized by determining the fixation of new mutations per unit of time. This allows, for example, to predict the variability of the virus in the case of successive
interspecies infections (e.g. breeding minks and humans). The result of the work carried out by Dr. Łukasz Rąbalski and his associates is, among others, a series of publications in prestigious journal on human infectious diseases such as Eurosurveillance and Emerging Infectious Diseases published by the European and American Centers for Infectious Diseases Prevention and Control (ECDC and CDC).
